Steel Road Pedestrian Guardrails

Insametal manufactures and installs steel road pedestrian guardrails for bridges and structures. It can be stainless steel or galvanized. We can manufacture any design and offer any finish appearance. Steel railings are one of the most usual contention systems for bridges and viaducts.

 

Technical Description

The installation of road pedestrian guardrails guarantees the safety of pedestrians on roads. Its primary function is to avoid unpredictable fallings or other accidents that could be caused by the lack of safety elements.

Composition

These types of metal pedestrian guardrails guarantee a long life duration and good tough. Depending on railing model, it will be available with more or less vertical rungs and a horizontal handrail that could be rectangular or cylindrical.

Preparation and Treatments

They are exist three types of treatments:

Hot Galvanized according to UNE in ISO 1461:

The regulation defines the hot galvanized as the formation or zinc coating in steel. Steel is submerged in a 450º molten zinc bath that causes that zinc be stuck on steel surface.

The primary aim of this procedure consists in prevent the steel rusting and corrosion that could be caused by moisture and environment pollution.

Thermo-lacquer according to UNE in 15773:

It is a process that applies a powder covering in thin layers to metal prepared to be placed into an oven and bakes it.

The architectural quality of polyester powder allows giving the better characteristics for a clean process of powdering and provides to good tough with a better aesthetical.

Duplex System (Hot Galvanized + Thermo-lacquer according to UNE in 15773):

We apply both procedures sequentially. Hot galvanized and thermo-lacquer. It is based on apply polyester powder to galvanized surfaces when is required a better result in corrosion proofing or when seeking a better aesthetical.

Features and Purpose

All pedestrian guardrails are composed of carbon steel that after is galvanized and thermo-lacquered. The straight pipe ensures a greater rigidity and this railing can be painted of any RAL colour that client’s demand.

Assembly

The pedestrian guardrail is anchored by anchor plates that affix the structure to the concreted floor. The anchor plate is affixed through mechanical bolts.

We can adapt our guardrails to any situation that required different installations. Curved terminals, expansion joints, manufacture of modules in viaduct with inclined slope.

Our Commercial Department offer to our clients an adapted service, since the design, mechanic calculates, control in regulations, manufacture and assembly.
