Concrete Acoustic Barrier

We distribute and assemble concrete acoustic screens

Insametal supplies and installs sound absorbing panels composed of concrete for railways and highways structures as a soundproofing solution.
The concrete barriers are preferred due to them toughness and stability. These panels can be placed in outskirts or urbanizations. These have an acoustic purpose because of the material used, such as concrete.

Don’t you know what mean acoustic and mechanical properties? We explain to you in this short post.
The concrete element is a well-known material. It is formed by cement, sand, water and gravel or crushed stone. Their consistency and low cost are the major advantages of these materials.

The concrete can be adapted to any shape and is reinforced inside with metallic frames that get an optimal tough. It is supported by steel beams which receive a treatment that contributes to lifetime.

The acoustic panel is composed of reinforced concrete HA-45/P/12 arid silicon; with B500S steel mesh of 6mm each 15cm until 13cm of lacquered porous concrete, formed by arid siliceous (4-8), washed sand and cement.

They are exist three types of treatments:

Hot Galvanized according to UNE in ISO 1461:

The regulation defines the hot galvanized as the formation or zinc coating in steel. Steel is submerged in a 450º molten zinc bath that causes that zinc be stuck on steel surface.

The primary aim of this procedure consists in prevent the steel rusting and corrosion that could be caused by moisture and environment pollution.

Thermo-lacquer according to UNE in 15773:

It is a process that applies a powder covering in thin layers to metal prepared to be placed into an oven and bakes it.

The architectural quality of polyester powder allows giving the better characteristics for a clean process of powdering and provides to good tough with a better aesthetical.

Duplex System (Hot Galvanized + Thermo-lacquer according to UNE in 15773):

We apply both procedures sequentially. Hot galvanized and thermo-lacquer. It is based on apply polyester powder to galvanized surfaces when is required a better result in corrosion proofing or when seeking a better aesthetical.

Concrete acoustic panel contributes efficiently to the noise absorbing. The panel has the following specifications:
  • Height and Width: Height is available in three measures: 0.5m, 1m and 2m. Weight is available in 4 meters between cross sections, but it can be variable.
  • Weight approximation: 2200Kg
  • Number of layers: It divides into two layers:
    • Porous Concrete: That is the absorbing part of the panel. It is formed by gravel of a greater magnitude that causes the texture to be porous and better for noise absorption.
    • Conventional Concrete: That is the regular concrete which inside has metallic frames to get better toughness and stability.
  • Metallic pillars or Metallic cross sections: Steel beams that contribute to the effective anchoring of the acoustic barrier. Steel has an S-275-JR or similar and that could be coloured with different RAL colours.

You could also install an upper methacrylate panel that can be transparent with less measure.

The assembly of steel beams is made through bolts with variable diameters depending on client demands.

These steel beams can be HEB/HEA or HEAA reinforced with IPE. These beams are anchored to the concrete floor and the panel can resist strong blizzards or earthquakes.
